Dierks teamed up with The Ellen DeGeneres Show to surprise a military family with $50,000 in their time of need. Sgt. Chad Sparks was actively serving when he lost a finger on duty and was forced to return home to care for his injury. He and his wife had been trying to make ends meet by selling their furniture, appliances and other personal items on Craigslist to help support their one-year-old daughter as Sgt. Sparks faced redeployment to Afghanistan.
How awesome are you!
I was watching Ellen the day you were on (what else is an old retired guy supposed to do during the day?) and was moved by your generosity to that family. Being a 20 year Vet, I can appreciate the trials and tribulations of deployments, and how that reeks havoc on an otherwise tight budget. Everytime I see something like what you did, it makes all the sacrifices and hardships that my family and I endured completely worth it. Thanks for that and I hope your career does well! You are definately a class act.
And that's why we all love
And that's why we all love Dierks, he is such a gentleman and a genuine person.
